progress update
Day 1 of filming was crazy because apparently I only had one day to shoot the opening scenes (the ones that require my actress) because she was unavailable on other days. But we tried our best. Took a lot of takes, so hopefully they're okay. Didn't get to do 2-3 scenes though. So I'm pretty sad about that. But I'm still pretty positive about everything.
I bought a dress for my actress and also, managed to get my mom to sponsor me for fabric and tailoring for a custom dress which costed her about 85 bucks in total. Yikes. And no, not in RM, in BND which is equivalent to SGD. I feel bad, but the dress looked amazing!
Left is the custom-made one, right is the one I bought somewhere here in Malaysia. I've been eyeing on that shop for quite a while now because of their pretty dresses. I don't wear pretty dresses, so I never actually buy anything there. But now I can say I did! Anyway..
The dress was sort of supposed to have this kind of 'feel' (see photo above). I didn't pick a similar color to this though, because I was being really careful with the fact that these scenes were going to be in black and white, and so the fabric needed to be 'contrasty', and not soft and pastel-ey. I also requested that the dress should be below the knee because the dresses back then were of that sort of length.
I trusted my mom to take a look at cotton fabric that looked old-fashioned and take pictures for me so that I could choose the most suitable one. She gave me a lot of choices.
These were the top three because of the contrastey-ness.
In the end, I picked the one with a white background, because I'm sure it would look better, as opposed to a dark color background.
Here are some pictures of when we filmed the car scene:
Yeah, we had a few problems.... My dad told the guy that we would be at their house at 2 but we ended up arriving around 3, because of hair and make-up. And he started the engine early for us, I don't know why, because I didn't say we needed the engine warmed up or anything hehe. But yeah so we... had to use the whole car jumper cable thingy which I have no clue about but I always see my friends doing it. Haha all I know it that it involves the car batteries, and cables. And magic happens. But this wasn't the case. Magic did not happen, because the other car's battery thing was also sort of weak or something... because, well... Idk, it's also sort of an old car I guess.
And yeah, I wasn't helping, because I was distracted by this other car. Haha. But in the end, we had to push the car out of the garage... I can definitely say I played a part in helping with that because I have no pictures of that incident. I helped the 2 guys push the car out. And as a result, I was sweating like crazy, which sorta caused me to be a bit sloppy in the filming process.
Anyway, yeah so then we managed to push the car out a bit - it wasn't easy because it was jammed........... Idk what 'it' is but something was jammed so it was REALLY hard to push the car out, even with 2 big dudes as the 'main pushers' haha.
It was pretty hard to film, because the car had no radio so we were in awkward silence haha, and I didn't think to bring speakers for my iPhone... oh well. Another difficulty I faced was that there were a lot of "modern" cars around, so I had to frame all these scenes in such a way that none of them could be seen. WHICH WAS HARD. *Cries* but I think they turned out okay.
